THE STORY
When we (Peach and Danielle) stepped foot at Acres of Love Head Quarters in Somerset West, South Africa, saw the children, babies and level of care that these orphans were receiving we knew we had witnessed what the bible says Heaven will look like “the last shall be first”. A short few weeks prior many of these babies were left to die and now here they were...living in a beautiful home where they receive individualized care, by a new mother that loves them dearly, committed to raise and see them through to adult-hood and beyond.

We visited the Acres of Love Head Quarters a few times the week we were in South Africa. Each time we visited we felt Jesus calling us more and more to take a step of faith, purchase a home and partner with the Acres team to save 6-8 more babies. We were trying to figure out in our heads how to make this dream come true after our small businesses just weathered through the storm of a pandemic, having to cut our companies in half and also knew the US was on the brink of a recession… we should be saving. It was then, in our South African hotel room when two verses came to mind:

James 1:27 “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”

Through this verse I knew Jesus was saying to us “This is something that is close to my heart. You can’t mess up investing in this, even if you give all you have to this cause.” I knew if I partnered with Jesus in His “business” he would take care of mine. I knew if we “gave to help the poor it was like loaning money to the Lord. He would pay us back for our kindness.” Proverbs 19;17.

On the evening of Thursday, April 21st we got on our knees asked God to give us the number and it was enough to commit about half a house. Then a few days later, as word started to get out another home was being started. Two other couples heard our commitment and said they would cover the gap to purchase the home! We were fully funded to purchase in 48 hours. We were stunned and in awe of how fast the Lord provided. We are thankful for this multifaceted invitation to help the those in need, store up treasures in heaven where moth and rust can not destroy.

HOW TO BE APART OF OUR TEAM!
We are thankful that you read our story and if you feel and see what we see we would be honored to go on this journey together there is a few ways to do that:

1. Pray and Fast Team: Each quarter (4 times a year) we pray and fast. On first Thursday, of the first month of the quarter, For 24 hours we only eat rice, beans and drink water. We also do not talk to our immediate family during this periods. This is to partner in spirit with future Acres children by feeling their hunger and loneliness, yet interceding with power of prayer. 2. Give on our Monthly Team: Our Home has monthly expenses we are responsible to cover. There is no amount big or small to give. You can give a one time gift or join in a monthly reoccurring giving opportunity.
